The good folks at Alamance Parks and Recreation have been dependable and active partners in HRA’s work and programming for years. During our annual Clean-Up-A-Thon, the APR staff generously interrupts their own work to help with trash pick up at several park locations. They always ensure the park is clean and prepared for our annual Haw River Island Ramble event at Saxapahaw Island Park. And for our Stream Investigation Program for eighth graders, Parks & Rec staff are a tremendous help in allowing us to use Great Bend Park and their resources to help educate over 1,000 students from public middle schools in Alamance County.  In every project, everyone from park staff to management has always been a pleasure to work with! 

Community services like Alamance Parks and Recreation are vital partners for us, as we work together to provide education, recreation, and clean up opportunities across the entire 110-mile watershed.  They’re also community heroes for all the work they do to make the river and our outdoor spaces available and accessible to all of us.  Thank you for being such incredible public servants and wonderful partners.
