LOBBY DAY WITH HRA!

We understand that speaking to our government leaders can be intimidating, and we want to empower individuals to stand up for themselves and their communities. Once a year, Haw River Assembly volunteers join with the Haw Riverkeeper to lobby for important bills directly impacting districts in the watershed. Stay tuned for our 2027 “Lobby Day with HRA” date!

2026 Lobby Day Recap!

On Earth Day, April 22, six volunteers joined Emily Sutton in Raleigh to help advocate for policies regarding industrial containments and other issues impacting the Haw River Watershed. Between personal meetings between volunteers and their representatives to sitting in during committee sessions, volunteers were able to grow as advocates and gain a deeper understanding of what goes into lobbying!
