Enbridge Pipeline Proposed in Chatham County - Community Meeting May 13

Hey all! For my Fierce Fossil Fuel Foes, I have one super big, important announcement, especially for Chatham County residents

Enbridge is proposing a new fracked gas pipeline in Chatham County that could potentially cross the Haw River

We are still learning about the specifics of this proposal and need to connect with potential directly impacted landowners who may have received notice from Enbridge Gas NC (EGNC) and/or Doyle Land Services (DLS) on or around April 16th, 2026.

If this fits you, or if you are a concerned community member, mark your calendars for Wednesday, May 13, to discuss this proposed pipeline in Chatham County. This meeting will be open to all concerned Chatham County community members and other concerned local residents/groups. Please note that our conversation at this community meeting will prioritize and center potentially directly impacted landowners.

Additional 5/13 meeting details:

WHO: Chatham County Community Landowners who received a letter from Enbridge Gas NC (EGNC) and/or Doyle Land Services (DLS) on or around April 16th, 2026. NOTE: This meeting will be open to all concerned Chatham County Community Members and other concerned local residents/groups. However, conversation at this community meeting will prioritize and center potentially directly impacted landowners. WHAT: Haw River Assembly, 7 Directions of Service, Clean Water for North Carolina, the Deep River Riverkeeper, and other community leaders invite Chatham County residents to a discussion on a newly proposed fracked-gas pipeline in Chatham County

WHERE: Forest Hall at Chatham Mills, 480 Hillsboro St, Suite 530, Pittsboro, NC 27312

WHEN: Wednesday, May 13th, 6:00 PM - 8 PM

WHY: North Carolinians know that our energy future will not center an increased reliance on fossil fuel projects like fracked-methane gas. With the notice of a potential proposed Enbridge fracked-gas pipeline, which may cross the Haw River, Chatham landowners and residents must ensure that they know their rights. We invite impacted landowners to come share what they know and what their concerns are around this project. We will have an eminent domain attorney and environmental justice experts present to aid in this discussion. We also invite concerned community members to come learn about the health and safety risks of this proposed pipeline and what they can do to support directly impacted landowners and the Haw River.

Contact aidan@hawriver.org with any questions or concerns.
